Chef Xavier Perez Stone Cocinero del Año 2009!

Over 100 competitors came from all over Mexico to compete for Chef of the Year 2009.
The top chefs from the states of Yucatán, Tabasco, Chiapas, Campeche, and Quintana Roo all gathered to compete in this amazing event. 10 Semifinalists many from the most prestigious hotels in the area competed in a blind competition. Each of the Semifinalists luxurious dishes were served to the judges without disclosing the artist of the ambrosial creation. From those 10 Semifinalists the Grand Velas Riviera Maya’s own chef, Xavier Perez Stone, was the winner of the anonymous chef’s award. This is an incredible compliment being that Chef Stone won only on pure epicurean talent!!
