Coba Mexico Excursions
Located west of Tulum in the dense Quintana Roo jungle, Coba is a fascinating experience in archeological discovery. Coba is believed to be the largest ancient Mayan city, and features the second tallest pyramid of the Mayan world. Much of the Coba’s area that spans approximately 30 miles is currently under excavation. Tours here are primitive, yet offer the perk of watching archeologists at work. I really like Coba for its beauty and mysteriousness. A visit here requires some effort but is very worthwhile. It has the highest pyramid in the area and the greatest concentration of Mayan roads constructed from stone. Only a small fraction of the many structures in this vast site have been excavated, making you feel like you are really exploring new groud. its a neat place – you should definitely visit.
